ISRAELI & RUSSIAN PILOTS FLY CLEAR OF EACH OTHER OVER SYRIA

The furious confrontation now raging between Russia's Vladimir Putin and Turkey’s Recepp Erdogan has raised this nightmare in Jerusalem. A senior Israeli Air Force officer has said he does not know what caused the Turkish jet to shoot down the Russian aircraft along Turkish-Syrian border, but indicated that chances are slim this could happen between Israeli and Russian jets. Israel and Russia have been operating an online communication network to prevent such an incident. At the end of a major Israeli Air Force exercise that has been conducted over northern Israel, the IAF officer said:

"We refrain from flying close to one another in order to prevent the pilots from having any question marks about the other's intentions. The intention is not to shoot down any Russian aircraft. Russia is not the enemy. We try to prevent any friction with the Russian aircraft, and their pilots refrain from any friction with us."

Dangerous lunacy: When the elites scapegoat Israel

This is the propaganda being disseminated in the media, sponsored by Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, and sometimes also by the Palestinian Authority, which controls the West Bank. In other words, the ISIS leaders’ idea of conquering Rome is actually shared by all the Islamic Jihad organizations. Hamas actually said the same things long before ISIS. In this sense, there is no difference between the global jihad perpetrating mass murder in Paris and the global jihad trying to kill Jews in Israel.

FRANCE'S 9/11 IS ISIL WARNING TO WEST!

ISIL's writing was on the wall, or should have been - but no one was really ready to see it! After the targeted killing of ‘Jihadi John’, Britain had better be on very high alert. ISIL has escalated its murderous campaign beyond the borders of Syria and Iraq. First Russia, and then the West, stepped up their operations in Syria, and ISIL has hit back hard.

First came the blowing up of the Russian airliner over Sinai, then the horrific suicide bombings in the Hezbollah quarter of Beirut, and now the killing spree in Paris. After blowing the Russian airplane to smithereens, ISIL then issued a video threat to Israel:

'Don't think that because we are fighting in Syria and elsewhere that we have forgotten about you... we are coming to get you in Eilat!'

What if Yitzhak Rabin had not been assassinated?

What if Israeli Prime Minister had not been assassinated after that peace rally on Nov.15th, 1995? Would Israel now be living at peace with the state of Palestine on the West Bank and Gaza Strip? Did Yigal Amir, the Right Wing Israeli killer, change the course of history?

Of course, there is no way of knowing. But it is possible to examine what has happened since that cursed night. Today over 90% of Israelis can tell you exactly what they were doing when they heard the news. A night when Israel's vaunted Shabak Security Service failed abysmally to prevent the assassin, armed with a revolver, from casually walking up and firing three shots into Rabin's back while a couple of his body-guards looked on in disbelief - Jews aren't supposed to assassinate their leaders! (The bullets were hollow-point to increase the damage and Rabin never had a chance.

State of Israel-Palestinian clash

The Palestinian 'Intifada of Knives' has entered a new phase. It has broadened to include more cases of Palestinian drivers deliberately trying to harm Israelis by running them over. After the initial shock of coping with young Palestinian killers armed with knives and meat cleavers, Israel launched a series of preventative steps. The current wave of sporadic but deadly Palestinian attacks was 'inspired' by President Mahmoud Abbas, Hamas, and the Palestinian media. They whipped up a Muslim rage over false charges that Israel was planning to take control of the al Aqsa mosque on Jerusalem's Temple Mount.

Israel will suppress terrorism but will not punish Palestinian population

A young Palestinian wakes up in the morning, or maybe on the spur of the moment, and decides to attack Israelis. He, or she, takes a butcher knife or a sharpened screw-driver or makes a Molotov cocktail and then goes looking for some Israelis to kill. Their preferred target is an Israeli soldier in uniform or an ultra-orthodox Jew dressed in black or wearing a skull-cap - that's to prevent the terrorist from attacking another Palestinian by mistake. The less ambitious rely on forming a gang of ten, twenty or more who hurl big rocks to smash and stop Israeli cars and maybe lynch the driver. In one case, they almost succeeded before a lone woman, although injured, managed to get away - in this case driving for her life! These lone-wolf attacks have suddenly escalated into eight or more on the same day. Naturally, Israeli and Palestinian radio and TV stations carried vivid accounts of the almost hourly attacks. This may have led to a 'copy-cat' phenomenon among teen-age Palestinians, while arousing alarm among Israelis. But the main source is to be found elsewhere.

Netanyahu warns Israel will act if Iran is allowed to violate nuclear deal

The nuclear accord negotiated by the world powers, the 5P+1, may be a done deal, but for Israel, this was only act one. The second act was now coming up. Netanyahu left no doubt that if the international community did not keep 'Iran's feet to the fire' by honoring the terms, then Israel would go it alone and attack Iran's nuclear weapons sites:

"I'll say it again. The days when the Jewish people remained passive in the face of genocidal enemies - those days are over.”

"Israel will not allow Iran to break-in or sneak-in, or walk into the nuclear weapons club."

"No one should question Israel's determination to defend itself against those who seek our destruction."

Obama & Netanyahu embark on damage control

Obama - let bygones be bygones...

Barack Obama won, Bibi Netanyahu lost - so what happens now? After fighting a rear guard action to the bitter end, the Israeli leader finally threw in the towel. After forging the nuclear deal with Iran, the U.S. President will apparently be able to depart the White House in another 17 months with his grand strategy intact - no new American military involvement in the Middle East (or anywhere else for that matter). The Ayatollahs in Iran have emerged with a win-win victory. They have simply put their nuclear weapons program temporarily in mothballs and will now cash in with a bonanza of hundreds of billions of dollars.

A double-edged boycott

If it seemed for a moment that the battle against the BDS campaign is lost, now’s the time to look again. Signs of new thought processes are popping up in Europe, of all places. First, attempts to sabotage the “Tel Aviv beach” on the banks of the river Seine in Paris failed miserably. Those opposed to it managed to generate a lot of noise on social media, but many, many more people came to celebrate at the beach rather than protest against it.

President Obama, tell us the truth about the Iranian nuclear deal!

Granted, this will allow you to exit the White House in January of 2017 with your Nobel Prize intact, but what of the longer term impact on your successors? Last but not least, what about Israel and the Sunni Arab states which are in Iran's nuclear crosshairs but which were totally excluded by the Great Powers in the crucial talks? Meanwhile the Iranians are not even helping you sell the nuclear package that is so full of holes.

‘First we take Cairo – then we take Jerusalem!’

Islamic State now poses a real and present danger to Israel's southern flank of Egyptian controlled Sinai. The IDF has reacted by stepping up its alert along the Sinai border that includes closing Highway 12, which runs along the frontier. In 2011, Jihadists crossed the border in a daring raid that killed eight Israelis. The terrorists have also rocketed Israel's Red Sea port of Eilat. But the ferocity of the IS combined operation against numerous Egyptian military targets signal a sharp escalation and threat, not only to Cairo but also Jerusalem.

There will be no change until Muslims wake up

Nearly 40 Muslims were murdered last Friday in a mosque in Kuwait. Dozens of Egyptian soldiers were killed on Wednesday. In between, another 103 Muslims were massacred in the city of Kobani in Syria, another 50 in the village of Lego in Somalia and 28 others in Sana'a, Yemen. We don’t know about all terror attacks in real time. In 2013, nearly 18,000 people were murdered in terror attacks, and in 2014 the number crossed 32,000. Almost all of them were Muslims. In addition, there are the victims of the wars in the Muslim world, so the estimates are that 132,000-174,000 Muslims were killed in 2014. And that's before mentioning the millions of refugees whose situation is deteriorating.

No freedom of expression for Israeli anthropologists?

A powerful American conservative organization expressed its discomfort over the liberal and post-Zionist inclinations of an Israeli research institute it has work relations with. It sent a delegation to look into the prevalent views at the institute which had "gone astray," and the members of the small institute panicked. The relationship with the donor organization was important to them – trips, sabbaticals, participation in conferences, publication of articles. Their dependence is complete, and they were afraid of a boycott.

US Gen. David Petraeus assails Iranian Nuclear Deal

Now Gen (ret.) David Petraeus, an eminent American military leader, has joined a chorus of critics who have assessed President Barack Obama's proposed nuclear deal with Iran. They are alarmed by what is emerging. Petraeus, a former CIA Director and Commander in Iraq, concurs with other former top administration officials who warn:

"The agreement will not prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapons capability. It will not require the dismantling of Iran's nuclear infrastructure." Read More...

Is unilateral action the key to our bilateral failure?

Faith in 'the process' is at an all time low. Even the eternally out-of-touch Obama administration has taken off the rose colored glasses and admitted it is unlikely that Israel and the Palestinians will reach a peace agreement in the coming year due to the various political challenges facing them. Indeed, yet another contrived round of bilateral negotiations between the newly formed right-wing Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority (that has historically shown no desire to agree to even the most generous of Israeli concessions) would likely be doomed to an even greater failure than the peace talks of 2014.

MAYBE IT'S TIME TO RESTRICT SETTLEMENT BUILDING AGAIN

US President Barack Obama has given Israel's leader Bibi Netanyahu an ultimatum - offer a concession to the Palestinian peace process or the US won't block new anti-Israeli resolutions at the UN General Assembly this fall. This was the gist of Obama's warning to the Israeli people when he was interviewed on Channel 2 TV.

ISRAEL IN CROSSHAIRS OF ISIS

Is Israel now in the crosshairs of ISIS? Ansar al-Maqdis, an affiliate of ISIS in Sinai has posted a warning on its web site threatening to carry out a 'mega-terror attack on Eilat in the coming days'. Eilat is Israel's port on the Red Sea, which is also a very popular tourist town. The al-Maqdis terrorists, who are now engaged in a bloody war with the Egyptian Army, have sworn allegiance to ISIS and are obviously taking their orders from Islamic State. Channel 1 TV opened its evening newscast with three reports on the possible threat. A senior IDF commander in Eilat said his forces are always prepared to cope with suicide bombers or attempts to crash through Israel's security fence along the Sinai border. The Israeli Air Force and Navy are also on round the clock standby to meet attacks from sea or the air. In the past, al-Maqdis has launched several rockets at Eilat. Recently Islamic State has included the Sinai Peninsula into its proposed caliphate, naming it as the 'Sinai Province'.

ISRAEL AIR FORCE PRESENTED PLAN FOR ATTACKING IRAN

It's incredible - they just can't seem to help it. Both Iran and North Korea simply won't let US President Barack Obama get away with concluding another bogus nuclear agreement. The most glaring is Pyongyang. According to the Wall Street Journal, China believes the North Koreans may already have produced an arsenal of twenty nuclear warheads. Previously, American experts estimated the North Koreans had acquired only 10 to 16 A-Bombs. Some American sources warn North Korea may step up its production to reach some 100 atomic warheads by 2020. This is the sorry result of former President Bill Clinton's nuclear deal with Pyongyang in 1994 that had all the trappings of a similar accord that Obama is now seeking to conclude with the Iranians by the end of June. It looks as if the Iranians are using the North Koreans' game plan that led the US down the garden path.

ISRAELI FIGHTER-BOMBERS CAPABLE OF PENETRATING IRAN'S S-300 MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM

These are trying times for the Jewish state. First U.S. President Barack Obama offers to give A-Bombs to Iran on a silver platter, and then Russian President Vladimir Putin announces he is now ready to supply Tehran with a sophisticated S-300 air defense to protect them! It took the U.S. Senate's Foreign Relations Committee to step in and remind Law Professor Obama about the 'checks and balances' of the U.S. Constitution designed to prevent a president from screwing up on foreign policy. Although the Senate's intervention may have injected a sense of sanity into Obama's dash for a deal with the Ayatollahs, it has not blocked Iran's road to nuclear weapons; it will only make it more difficult and take longer - a detour along the way. At best, if the Iranians do not try and cheat again in the near future, this may be the Iranian game plan according to IDF (ret) Maj. Gen. Yaakov Amidror, a leading intelligence expert:

"The Iranians will scrupulously comply during the term of the forthcoming accord and rebuild their economy, bolster their regional status, strengthen their partners Hezbollah and others (Hamas, Houthi rebels in Yemen), deepen their nuclear research; and when the accord expires they will return to their nuclear weapons program with greater intensity."

LAUSANNE - IRANIAN INTERPRETATION OF NUCLEAR AGREEMENT WILL DIFFER

'The devil will be in the details' - Iran appears to have made some surprising nuclear concessions in the framework understandings in Lausanne but will they start backtracking when the fine print is negotiated by the end of June? The jury is still out. Although Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif was beaming from ear to ear was he playing his designated role in another Iranian scheme to again pull the wool over the eyes of the world? Was it another old Iranian scam of one foot forward and then two steps back in the upcoming and binding round of talks to be finalized by the end of June? This is the big question that Israel will be watching in the months ahead. And with good reason; if Iran, a known con artist which has lied and cheated repeatedly in the past, still insists that its entire nuclear project has always been for peaceful purposes, then 'buyer beware!'
