TURKEY COLLABORATES WITH ISIL & HAMAS

According to the Associated Press, the ISIL assault was launched by a suicide bomber driving an armored vehicle across the Turkish border:

"Beirut (AP): The Islamic State group launched an attack on the Syrian border town of Kobani - a first in the ongoing siege, a Kurdish official and activist said."

He was identified as Nawaf Khalil a spokesman for the Kurdish Democratic party. In Khalil's words:

"ISIL used to attack the town (of Kobani) from three sides. Today they are attacking from four sides."

There is no question that ISIL could not have launched the attack from across the Turkish border without the green light from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish Army has deployed a cordon of tanks along its border with Syria to bar Turkish volunteers from reaching Kobani, which has been under ISIL attack since September.

IRAN NOT BUDGING ON NUCLEAR WEAPONS CAPABILITY

Israel has breathed a collective sigh of relief. There is good news and bad news over the decision to extend the Nov. 24th deadline and negotiate on Iran's nuclear project for another seven months. The good news is that U.S. President Barack Obama and the other members of the 5P+1 have not agreed to a nuclear deal at any price - the bad news is they have acquiesced in Iran's stonewalling without increasing the sanctions. Iran's sweet-talking President Hassan Rouhani was more than pleased with the diplomatic outcome in Vienna:

"We have achieved a significant victory - the negotiations will lead to a deal, sooner or later."

And his boss, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei warned that he would not budge in the upcoming round of negotiations:

"The American and European colonialist countries gathered and applied their entire efforts to bring the Islamic Republic to its knees, but they could not and will not."

ANOTHER PALESTINIAN TERROR ATTACK IN JERUSALEM

Jerusalem: It was only a matter of time - a Palestinian terrorist has again driven his vehicle at high speed into Israelis at a crowded intersection in Jerusalem. One Israeli border policeman was killed and thirteen other people were injured, several of them seriously. After deliberately crashing into the Israelis near a light rail station, the terrorist jumped from his van wielding an iron bar and clubbed bystanders. More policemen arrived quickly to shoot dead the attacker. Hamas has claimed responsibility for what it termed "the heroic running over operation." The assailant has been identified as Ibrahim Akari, a thirty-five year old resident from the nearby Shuafat refugee camp. He was the brother of one of the terrorists released by Israel in exchange for the kidnapped Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit. The brother, who had murdered another policeman, was banished from Israel to Turkey, where President Erdogan has reportedly permitted Hamas to set up shop.

"Chickenshit" Netanyahu & Iranian Nuclear Weapons Crisis

Above and beyond the startling headlines about a senior Obama official calling Netanyahu "chickenshit", there is the far more important revelation by reporter Jeffrey Goldberg in his latest expose in the Atlantic magazine. A second senior Obama official agreed Netanyahu was a chickenshit not only in the Palestinian peace process, but also on the Iranian nuclear threat:

"The Obama administration no longer believes that Netanyahu would launch a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities in order to keep the regime in Tehran from building an atomic arsenal. It's too late for him to do anything. Two, three years ago, this was a possibility. But ultimately, he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger - it was a combination of our pressure and his own unwillingness to do anything dramatic. Now it's too late."

OTTAWA, JERUSALEM, KOBANI & TEHRAN - CONNECT THE DOTS

Islamist terror struck within minutes in two separate world capitals, Ottawa and Jerusalem. It was a stark sign of the times that pits the militant Islam from over 1,400 years ago against everyone else: Christians, Jews, and other Muslims. Lone terrorists struck in Ottawa and Jerusalem, and Jihadist forces continue to threaten and massacre the remaining Muslim Kurds in the Syrian town of Kobani, while in Tehran it appears as if the ayatollahs have conned the U.S. into letting them keep their nuclear facilities for building A Bombs.

KERRY LINKS ISRAEL TO ISLAMIC STATE!

Returning home from the Cairo meeting to rebuild Gaza, the U.S. Secretary of State has hinted that Israel is partly to blame for the rise of Islamic State:

"There isn't a leader I met with in the region who didn't raise with me spontaneously the need to try and get peace between Israel and the Palestinians, because it was a cause for recruitment and street anger and agitation. People need to understand the connection of that, and it has something to do with humiliation, and denial, and absence of dignity."

PARCHIN - IRAN'S SMOKING GUN

The satellite photos are shocking - the mysterious explosion flattened many buildings inside Iran's Parchin military test site. Now under international pressure to reach a nuclear accord with the 5P+1, the timing of the blast was atrocious for Tehran. It again raises the specter of an Iranian nuclear weapon in the making. So far the Iranian negotiators have continued to stonewall with their diplomatic waltz of one step forward and two steps back. It appears that Ayatollah Khamenei and the fanatic Revolutionary Guards, who call the shots, are ready to make some marginal concessions in return for easing the crippling economic sanctions. However, they have dug in their heels on maintaining the potential to develop A-bombs in the future. Say, after the Iranian economy has recovered. So what went wrong in Parchin on October 7th that sent 'shock waves' not only through Tehran but also across the world?

IN NETANYAHU’S WAKE

Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu: How about taking your own advice? If an Iranian A-bomb is the greatest threat to Israel and the world, why do you repeatedly take your eye off the ball by building new housing units in a controversial area of Jerusalem? Granted the original decision was taken two years ago and has only now been approved by the Jerusalem municipality, but you could have blocked it. Or at the very least, announced that you oppose such a tendentious decision at a time you are rallying US and international support for maintaining the sanctions on Tehran.

NETANYAHU WARNS OBAMA ON ISIL-IRAN DEAL

Keep your eye on the Iranian ball! Don't win the war on ISIL and lose the war to a nuclear Iran! This was the most telling message in Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu's address to the UN General Assembly in New York. Obviously Israel's leader is worried about reports the US and the rest of the 5P+1 may offer Tehran an easing of the nuclear sanctions, if the Iranians join the coalition against Islamic State. He did not pull any punches:

'The Islamic Republic (Iran) is now trying to bamboozle its way to an agreement that will remove the sanctions it still faces, and leave it with the capacity of thousands of centrifuges to enrich uranium. This would effectively cement Iran's place as a threshold nuclear power. In the future, at a time of its choosing, Iran, the world's most dangerous state in the world's most dangerous region, would obtain the world's most dangerous weapons'.

OBAMA LEADING FROM THE COCKPIT

Alas, leading from behind will not work for US President Barack Obama in the Middle East. American jets are bombing and Tomahawk cruise missiles are blasting Islamic State ground forces and oil refineries in northern Syria and Iraq. After Gen. Martin Dempsey forewarned Obama that the air strikes on IS had better be serious or else he might have to recommend ground forces, the President got the message. Adding insult to injury, two of his former defense secretaries, Robert Gates and Leon Panetta, also castigated Obama for being too eager to withdraw US troops from Iraq, a move that has exacerbated the overall situation. With Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain and even Qatar joining Obama's invitation to follow his lead, Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron has now told the UN General Assembly that he's on board, as is Holland. The meltdown in Iraq and the civil war in Syria have spawned the IS juggernaut in those two former states and forced Obama to jettison his soft power, and switch to a harder foreign policy. This is how the US President described it in his address to the current session of the UN General Assembly in New York:

'The only language understood by killers like this (IS) is the language of force'.

GEN. DEMPSEY COVERS HIS BUTT

The current chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff has this policy - he calls them as he sees them. Apparently he has serious doubts about President Barack Obama's strategy for defeating ISIL in Iraq and Syria by air power. And that is why Gen. Martin Dempsey has told Congress:

'If there are threats to the US, then I, of course, would go back to the President and make a recommendation that may include the use of US military ground forces'.

Predictably, Obama hit the roof. If Dempsey had opened the door to the military need for an eventual deployment of American 'boots on the ground', Obama slammed it shut. Appearing before American troops twenty-four hours later in Tampa, Florida hours later, the President declared unequivocally:

'The American forces that have been deployed to Iraq do not and will not have a combat mission'.

In an effort to drum up support for his newfound ISIL strategy, Obama noted that Britain and France were already flying missions over Iraq, and that Canada and Australia were sending military advisors.

OBAMA & HIS MUSLIM MANIACS

The historical irony is striking, on the thirteenth anniversary of 9/11, another U.S. President, Barack Obama, has been forced to declare total war on a new breed of Muslim maniacs. However, Obama is no George Bush, a ranting Republican hawk raring to take on al Qaeda. This time it was a dovish Democrat, who at the outset of his term, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaign promises - the judges in Oslo had discerned correctly that Obama would take a new approach in the Middle East and conclude America's wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. But the reality of fanatical Islam, far more savage than even al Qaida, has upset Obama's 'best laid plans'.

GAZA - WHO WON & WHO LOST?

Hamas declared total war on Israel, throwing all its game-changers into the fray - fifty days later, it has precious little to show for it. Although dealing some severe blows, Hamas has brought death and destruction for starting the latest round and then rejecting the first Egyptian ceasefire proposal six days into the war. Israel has not given in to the Hamas demand 'to lift the siege' and will not agree to negotiate a Hamas seaport and airport that would turn into expressways for Qatar and Iran to start shipping more rockets into Gaza. Moreover, Cairo and Jerusalem see eye to eye on the need to bar weapons to Gaza - in effect, a de facto demilitarization of Gaza.

ISRAELI-HAMAS TEST OF WILLS

Why has Hamas broken the latest ceasefire with Israel? Simply because Israel did not give in to all its demands, nor will it do so in the future. On the battlefield, Hamas lost; Israel developed a counter-measure to cope with the Hamas rocketing of Israeli civilians and the threat of the terror tunnels. So Hamas must show some major Israeli concessions to justify the damage and suffering that these Islamist fanatics have brought to Gaza. Within 24 hours, Hamas and the other terror groups in Gaza have launched over 100 rockets and mortars at Israel. Sirens also blared in the Jerusalem area, but Iron Dome was again on guard and intercepted 14 of the incoming rockets. Although there were some close calls, no Israelis were killed although; there was some damage to property. In return, Israeli aircraft carried out over 90 strikes on the length and width of Gaza.

AN ISRAELI 'APOLOGY' FOR GAZA

In light of the tsunami of criticism against Israel's defense against the Hamas rocketing blitz from Gaza, IsraCast has extended the following 'apology' to US President Barack Obama. According to the Wall Street Journal, Washington has suspended the delivery of Hellfire missiles to Israel in response to 'Israel not knowing its place' in the eyes of some U.S. officials. This then, is why Israel should 'apologize' for its military operations against Gaza:

GAZA CEASEFIRE EXPECTED TO HOLD

7:48 AM-August 5th, two minutes before the latest Egyptian brokered ceasefire was to go into force: Hamas launches a barrage of 25 more rockets at Jerusalem and communities in central Israel. Again, air raid sirens wail and hundreds of thousands of Israelis rush to their bomb shelters. Israel's Iron Dome missiles blast off, knocking seven of the incoming rockets out of the sky. They were on target for population centers. Several others do explode on the ground but there are no Israeli casualties. The rest are allowed to land harmlessly in open areas. Imagine how many Israeli children, women and men would have been killed and wounded if those seven rockets had hit apartment buildings. This has been at the core of the current conflagration and the IDF's mission to suppress this rocketing of Israeli civilians that has escalated ever since Israel totally evacuated the Gaza Strip in 2005. The IDF estimates that Hamas terrorists fired 3,350 rockets during its 26-day Operation that was triggered by hundreds more rockets in the preceding week. Yet critics of Israel, including some foreign governments, are castigating the Jewish state for not acting proportionately to the Hamas threat.

AMERICA IN ISRAEL'S POSITION?

The deaths of 13 Israeli infantrymen killed in house-to-house fighting with Hamas in Sajaiya has shocked and saddened Israel. In a news conference with Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, Prime Minister Netanyahu declared: “We are fighting for our very home and we are determined to win this battle. No other war has been so justified as the IDF's campaign to halt Hamas rocketing of Israeli civilians.” Make no mistake, Israel is determined that the deaths of the Golani soldiers will not be in vain. The country's leaders and people are resolved to follow through and prevent another rocket blitz of Israel or tunnel attack whenever the Hamas Islamists in Gaza decide to do so. Netanyahu noted that many world leaders, starting with U.S. President Barack Obama, had expressed understanding for Israel's right of self-defense. Even more telling were the countries in the region (Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan) who were also in Israel's corner. The only two countries rooting for Hamas were Iran and Qatar.

ISRAEL'S OPTIONS FOR GAZA CONFLICT

Has the time come to invade Gaza? That is now the question as Israel's Operation Protective Edge enters its fifth day. The Israel Air Force has been clobbering Hamas terrorists in Gaza who have been launching hundreds of rockets into Israel with the express aim of killing and maiming as many Israeli children, women and men as possible. Israeli aircraft and naval vessels have been knocking out Hamas targets concentrating on their launch pads, arsenals and personnel. Hamas has countered by extending its range of rocket attacks far beyond the adjacent Israeli communities in the Western Negev to the metropolis of Tel Aviv and then north to the outskirts of Haifa. Flying around the clock, Israeli jets and choppers have been systematically striking more than 1,100 targets as the campaign continues without let-up.

ISRAEL DECIDES ON SEVERE BUT CALIBRATED CRACKDOWN ON HAMAS

'Hamas is responsible, Hamas will pay!' Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu has warned that Israel is about to take off the gloves, after the bodies of three Israeli youths were found near Hebron, a hotbed of Hamas terrorism on the West Bank. After the massive 18-day search, the bodies of Naftali Fraenkel, Gil-ad Shaar and Eyal Yifrach were uncovered in a hole. Two suspected Hamas terrorists from the Hebron area, named as Marwan Kawasme and Amer Abu Aysha, are believed responsible. The manhunt continues for the two suspects, who are believed to be hiding out in the West Bank. Apparently, pretending to be religious Jews, the two killers gave a lift to the three hitchhiking Israelis and then shot them dead when Gil-ad Shaar tried to contact the Israel police on his cell phone. A police recording of the call indicates all three were shot dead in the car where bullet casings were found.

U.S. - No Longer Policeman of the World?

It was highly significant that U.S. President Barack Obama selected West Point as the venue to articulate his foreign and military policy. Without saying it in so many words Obama sent a message loud and clear - America has abdicated its role of 'policeman of the world'. Obama has jettisoned the projection of American military power that characterized his predecessor George W. Bush. Addressing the graduating cadets, their commander-in-chief told them: “The U.S. will use military force, unilaterally if necessary, when our core interests demand it - when our people are threatened, when our livelihoods are at stake; when the security of our allies is in danger.” But his punch line related to global issues that do not directly threaten the U.S.: "Then the threshold of military action must be much higher. In such circumstances, we should not go it alone. Instead, we must mobilize allies and partners to take collective action." The truth is this has been a cornerstone of Obama's policy of 'leading from behind' in the Middle East, as exemplified by the crises in Libya and currently in Syria. Clearly, Obama's refusal to make good on his warning that Assad would face the consequences if he repeated his use of chemical weapons has actually tipped the scales in favor of the regime against the rebels.
